T.O.K.Y.O - Day 1 Part 2 > Tokyo Skytree District

July 2013 - Sakura Cafe + Tokyo Skytree Town

It has always been a must have practice to plan my holiday’s itinerary in details and source out places to go. While planning for my 1st Tokyo trip, I read online about this tallest ice cream in Tokyo and I was soooo looking forward to try it out.

Posing outside Sakura Café

This awesome dessert – SKYTREE parfait - can be found at Sakura Café and we ordered IKI (green tea flavor), given that I love green tea flavor very much. Win me over with anything green tea (^_^)

Menu with colorful words
Posing while waiting for the arrival of my long awaiting dessert
The Café provided warm towel and I just put it on my head LOL
Finally the arrival of IKI. It is so cool, standing at a height of 63.5 cm to symbolize Tokyo’s skytree.

The portion is just nice for 2 people. I like the top part of the dessert which is made of sugar.

There are melon, azuki red bean, rice balls, oranges, jelly, matcha ice cream and matcha agar at such an affordable price of 1800 yen, since Japanese desserts in Singapore Café  / restaurants are much pricier.

Starts to dig in!!!

Next.....Off to Tokyo Skytree Town

After finishing the yummy IKI, we went over to Toyko skytree. We didn't go up  the Tokyo skytree since the entrance fee is 2000 yen for an adult (more expensive than my dessert)  and I personally don’t fancy city landscape view. Growing up in a city country – Singapore, city view is way too boring for me.

As expected, here’s the well known Tokyo banana shop, located at ground floor of Tokyo Skytree Town. Friends of mine said that Tokyo banana is a must buy back goodie if one is to travel to Japan. However, I find the price of such a small pastry is way too overpriced for me (8 pieces for 1000yen) (www.tokyobanana.jp ). I don’t understand why people are obsessed with it. But if you do take a look at how it is being packaged, it is kinda cute.

Promotion

Despite the promotion, it is still pricey to me but I love siew mai (meat dumplings) and Gyoza
