TOKYO II: Day IV - Tsujiki Market + Zozoji temple + Tokyo Tower

July 2014

Heading to Tsukiji Market in the morning and it was a hot day. Exiting from the station of Tsukiji, you will pass by a temple before you reach Tsukiji Market. Here's a map to guide you along.

Entering the wholesale market, lines of shops with dried food and of course delicious food for hungry patrons like me.

Japanese egg (Tamago) are really yummy! I love it. They have different flavours as shown above - such as Nori (seaweed) and Negi (Onion)

I bought this original flavour just tamago (egg) itself for 1000 yen.

Many say that if you are to go to Tsukiji market, you should not miss trying their fresh sushi. However, there are long queues at the popular restaurants and not being a fan of sushi, I settle for beef rice instead.

This fierce old lady was speaking in Japanese to tell me not to take photos. But isn't it good that bloggers like me help to promote how good their food is?

Nevertheless, I ordered a bowl of beef rice and god was it delicious! The beef was cooked just right, tender and not hard to chew like most beef rice.

After my yummy lunch, I head over to Zozoji Temple founded in 1393.

The crows are gigantic. There are many of them in the temple.

I came to Zozoji Temple for this Unborn Children stone statues

Every stone statue represents an unborn child from a family and it was decorated with children clothes and has a windmill with it

Walking up the up-slope for Tokyo Tower. I didn't spend money to go up to the observatory tower as I don't fancy city view that much.

Restuarants and shops at the ground level
