BANGKOK II : Day 2 Part III - Sea Lion Show + Cowboy Show

Dec 2013

Up Next: Sea Lion Show. It isn't of much difference to other sea lion shows. The sea lions blow the musical instrument, use their heads to catch the hula hoops, balancing balls on their snouts, dancing and playing water polo.

Balancing small chair on their snouts

Dancing! Swaying its body to the music

Milk time for baby tigers!

Shaking my hand with the baby tiger's paw

This cowboy stunt show and the spy war show are the two shows I find very boring with a dull plot. It is all about violence with lots of beatings and shooting together. The Thai dialogues among the actors do not make the story interesting. The plot is repetitive with the bad guys shooting down the good guys who never seem to die and the bad vs the good continue on and on...... of course, the good will always win.

Arrival of the sheriff on the horse

It was so boring that I did not take many photos of it.

A short break from the shows by having buffet lunch at Jungle Cruise Restaurant. The food is of fair taste, nothing fantastic about it.

Dessert with Jelly coated fruits in a syrup. Sweet!

BANGKOK II: Day 2 Part II - Marine Park - Orang Utan Boxing Show (with Videos)

Dec 2013

At the entrance of Safari World ....   It was a sunny day which meant that it was a good day to be outdoors and walk around Marine Park....

Map of Safari World

The animal caps are cute but I am not gonna wear it so I didn't buy any.

Here we are.....To Marine Park for the animal shows

I actually have more photos of the baby tigers in the cage, together with my photos with them. But my iphone was stolen back in my hometown so I lost some of the photos taken with my iphone 5s Gold :(

The Oran Utan show is my favourite show among the others because it is something I never seen before in other countries and the plot is quite comical. You don't get to see every country's zoos have orang utan boxing isn't it?

One thing about visiting other countries' attractions is that it is always featured in their local languages. Why can't shows be in English which is a universal language and to take into consideration that we foreigners also pay for our entry. Most of the shows are in Thai language so I can only understand the gist of the show through their body languages.

The show started with the orang utans playing music as a band

The female orang utan was dancing alongside the wall. I don't like it when humans try to humanise animals by making them wearing clothes. Aren't animals suppose to be just animals? Anyway, I wonder how the place manage to train those orang utans to perform all the tricks in the show.

That's the champion orang utan and the show is about the champion of the last competition being challenged by a new competitor.

In the show, the orang utans like to strip off their clothes. Is it because they are trained to do so for comical effects or they just don't like to wear clothes?

The challenger is here!

Stripping again!

The fight starts!

The champion wins and the paramedics came to carry the 'injured' challenger. The joke was that the stretcher couldn't carry any weight so the challenger was left lying on the ground. There was even a doctor orang utan as well to diagnose the condition of the challenger.

The show ended and I managed to get a shot of the champion and challenger as they only pose for a short while before leaving.

Blue shirt orang utan was helping to clear up the mess.

This female oran utan is very used to having visitors feeding her. As long as she sees any passerbys, she will stretched out her hands to ask for food. So if you are to visit Marine Park, do bring along some fruits to feed the animals. Apparently, the place does not have any signs that says no feeding of animals.

There will be more photos of her again as I passed by her enclosure and up next:
