BANGKOK II : Day 2 Part 1 - Safari World

Dec 2013

I have read online about this open zoo in Bangkok and I was looking forward to visit this zoo since most of the zoos have enclosures which keep animals and humans apart. I love animals and it was a great opportunity to get close to them in their living space. I have included videos to share my experience there.

My first breakfast at Ten Stars Inn

I joined a one day tour by purchasing an adult ticket (1059 baht) at www.hotels2thailand.com
The tour is inclusive of pickup to/fro hotel, entry to Safari World and Marine Park and Lunch Buffet.

My tour guide was a friendly elderly man named Pan. After checking out that it will be crowded to visit Safari World in the afternoon, he brought us to Safari World in the morning instead before we went over to Marine Park to watch animals shows.

Our first stop was the herbivores section where the grass eaters live in harmony on a vast grass land. We were sitting in a mini bus which fetched us from our hotels. We were allowed to open the bus's windows tohave a good view of the animals and take photographs. It is best to sit in front to have a good view.

It is kinda noisy with other tour members who were talking loudly. I don't understand their language, it could be Vietnamese.

Here we are, at the carnivores' section. First animals we saw are the tigers. It wasn't the tigers' feeding so there were only sleepy tigers to look at. We were not allowed to open the windows for safety reasons. It is best to sit at the right side of the passengers' seats as the right side is the only view (luckily, I was at the right side of the car).

Every tour group was given a number. Our group number was 444.

Here's the black bears, lazing around under the shade.

I quite like my next post which was very interesting. It was the show of Orang utans' boxing.
