Day 4: Travelling back to Tokyo from Osaka using Shinkansen
I bought a set of Tonkatsu Mcburger Meal. Japan's MacDonalds is so flexible. The set consists of a burger and choices of sides can be French Fries, Nuggets or Salads. I chose ice tea and the set meal only costs 580 yen.
There is no curry sauce in Japan so I chose BBQ sauce. The burger wasn't that fantastic so it will be my first and last time eating it.
Impending typhoon. I was lucky to leave Osaka a day earlier before typhoon causes train delay of up to 120 minutes for Shinkansen trains. I would have been stuck in Osaka
Arrival in Tokyo and back to Ameyoko for shopping and to buy many boxes of snacks home.
My favourite snack shop at Ameyoko > 二木の菓子 Niki no Kashi
Saw this green tea powder with milk - A must buy for me
A shrine just opposite Niki no Kashi 二木の菓子
Various boxes of biscuits available and these cat biscuits are so cute!!!
Ameyoko - a great place to shop for bags and men's clothes.
Chanced upon the outlet of Sutadonya at Ameyoko. (Please view previous year post of Sutadonya). They are not to be missed for their delicious pork rice. This time, I tried out their stir fried veggie pork rice - 720 yen.
I did not try out their curry as I prefer their pork rice instead.
With the half boiled egg mixed with the juicy pork and slightly spicy vegetables, it still makes me salivate even when I am writing this post.
A Japanese recommends this ramen shop located opposite JR Ueno station exit. I did not try the noodles as I was already full from my pork rice. I ordered milk flavor ice cream instead - 200 yen.
If you like coffee and chocolate, do try out this rich coffee chocolate sold at Niki no Kashi at Ameyoko. Prices of snacks are before tax.
